NINTH COAST GUARD DISTRICT

Guardians of the Great Lakes

Ninth Coast Guard District Command Center (drmc)

The Ninth Coast Guard District's Command Center, also known as Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) Cleveland, was established in 1956 as RCC Cleveland, an internationally recognized command and control point for maritime and aeronautical Search and Rescue (SAR) operations on the Great Lakes and the navigable inland waters of either states. It is located in Cleveland's Anthony J. Celebrezze Federal Building.

Serving the citizens of the United States and Canada through a unique international memorandum of understanding, JRCC Cleveland coordinates the saving or assisting of thousands of lives and millions of dollars worth of property each year. The center also oversees all other Coast Guard response mission areas - including maritime law enforcement, environmental response, and maritime security - and is the Coast Guard's operational central point of contact for the Great Lakes region.

JRCC Cleveland employs some of the Coast Guard's finest SAR professionals and technology the world has to offer. JRCC Cleveland proudly responds earlier rather than later, does more rather than less, searches longer rather than shorter, and lives by its SAR Ethos:

Treat every potential victim as you would your own family.
