Master Chief Petty Officer Charles Y. Fowler
Aviation Survival Technician
Master Chief Fowler serves as Command Master Chief of Coast Guard Air Station Savannah, GA. His primary responsibility is to advise the Commanding Officer in all matters and initiatives pertaining to all Coast Guard members and their families at Air Station Savannah. He also maintains a steadfast partnership with local Department of Defense Senior Enlisted members and community leaders.
A native of Sylva, North Carolina; Master Chief Fowler enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1999. Previously, Master Chief Fowler served as Leading Chief Petty Officer for the MH60 Division at Air Station Clearwater. His other assignments include Air Station Kodiak, AK, Air Station Savannah, GA, Aviation Training Center Mobile, AL, Air Station North Bend, OR, and CGC Mellon (WHEC 717). Master Chief Fowler has held qualifications as a rescue swimmer in the Coast Guard’s H-65A/B/C/D and H-60J/T airframes, accumulating over 2000 hours of aerial flight.
Master Chief Fowler is a graduate of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Academy class CLXXVI, and the Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Leadership Course class 55. He earned an Associate in Science degree from Columbia College in Environmental Studies.
Master Chief Fowler’s personal awards include three Coast Guard Commendation Medals, three Coast Guard Achievement Medals, the Commandant’s Letter of Commendation Ribbon, Governor’s Outstanding Enlisted Representative Award, Hugh M. Casteix Award, and various service and unit awards.
