Command - Reserve Command Master Chief
Master Chief Leon T. Troy, Jr. is a native of Philadelphia, PA, and enlisted in the Coast Guard Reserve through the Direct Petty Officer Program in 1999.
During his career, Master Chief Troy has been assigned to the National Response Center (NRC), Coast Guard Surge Staffing Team East, Coast Guard Cyber Command, Coast Guard Special Missions Training Center Deployable Training Detachment, Sector Delaware Bay Reserve Force Readiness Staff, Coast Guard Civil Rights Directorate, Coast Guard District 17, the U.S. Naval War College, Coast Guard National Capital Region, Coast Guard District 9, Base Cleveland, FORCECOM, and Port Security Unit 305. Master Chief Troy has deployed for various hurricane response operations for the Coast Guard and operations associated with Deepwater Horizon in 2010.
Master Chief Troy’s personal awards include the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, a U.S. Army Commendation Medal, four Coast Guard Achievement Medals, a U.S. Navy Achievement Medal, eight Coast Guard Letters of Commendation, two Coast Guard Good Conduct Medals, five Coast Guard Reserve Good Conduct Medals, and various service awards.
Master Chief Troy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Waynesburg University. He is a graduate of Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy Reserve Class XXXVII, and Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Leadership Course Class 55.
